Investigation on PCB Residues in Foods

Abstract
The study was carried out for the determination of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) in 18 samples of marine products, short-necked clam, askshell, oyster, alaskan pollack, yellow tail runner, crucian carp which were purchased at markets in seoul.
The determination of PCB was made by ECD-gas chromatography using three kinds of liquid phases (2%DEGS-0.5% H_(3)PO_(4), 2%QF-1, 5%QF-1-3% DC-200). and KC-200, KC-300, KC-400, KC-500, KC-600 and these compounds were used for standard substances.
Five samples in 18 samples were found at levels from 0.0158ppm to 0.0853ppm.
